■ 科目のねらい
This course is an extension of English Communication I and as such has the same aim which is to help student
s remember and produce English in easy situations which deal with everyday conversations and activities
involving children.

■ 授業の概要
This course will cover two main aspects of English:1) Everyday English conversation and 2) Teaching English
to children. An important addition is the focus on non-verbal methods of communication in order to clarify
verbal communication.

■ 達成目標・到達目標
Students will continue to increase their everyday spoken English ability.
Students will learn the basics of phonics and how to read English.
Students will learn how to make English more easily understood through non-verbal communication and
Students will learn how to express themselves more effectively.

■ 単位認定の要件
Passing grades will be given to students who attend at least 2/3 of classes， complete the tests and assignme
nts and successfully give storytelling， drama and teaching presentations.

■ 単位の認定方法及び割合
期末レポート：20％　授業内提出物：20％　授業内試験：50％　授業内活動：10％

■ 時間外学修
Students must review and evaluate previous classes (30-60 mins) and prepare for short comprehension tests (3
0 mins). Also rehearsal time for presentations (3-5 hours).

Reports will be discussed with the teacher and presentations will be self and group evaluated.

■ 使用テキスト・教材
All necessary materials will be handed out in class. Students should bring a file to keep handouts.

An important point of the course is for students to realise that English is not Grammar / Translation.
It is a tool for communicating. Therefore active participation is very important in this class. Good Luck!
