■ 科目のねらい
本科目は、総合文化学科のディプロマポリシーを実現することを目標として設置されたカリキュラムポリシー「汎用的能
力・社会人としての基礎的能力、学問の方法、実務遂行能力・コミュニケーション能力をさらに高めること」の達成のた
めに設けられた「ハイレベル」科目として配置されている。（DPに対応する中項目：④⑥）

■ 授業の概要
This course will expand on English learnt in previous courses. It will　be high level communicative English，covering many different topics　and situations found in everyday life.This course will be practical. Students will develop their English skills through a variety of activities involving small and large groupwork. Activities will be drama-based and discussion-based，with presentations and speaking tests.

①Students will be able to give opinions on a range of topics.
②Students will be able to demonstrate their ability to deal with a variety of situations.
③Students will give and exchange detailed information about themselves and the world around them.

■ 単位認定の要件
To achieve a passing grade， students must not only complete all assignments but must show a clear
improvement through the course in terms of fluency and vocabulary use.

Introducing and practicing ways to agree and disagree.

Group discussion and activity ’The wife and the Lover.’

Role play based on issues arising from last weeks activity.

第12回 Suggestions and recommendations

Introducing ways of recommending and suggesting things to others.

第13回 Reporting information

Introducing ways to report accurate， detailed information.

第14回 Presentation 1

Preparing a drama based presentation - current affairs broadcast.

Performance of current affiars broadcast.

Students will keep a daily diary for discussion purposes and are encouraged to experience and research a wid
e variety of original source materials.(2-3 hours)

Teacher evaluation and individual and group evaluation will be emphasised.

All necessary materials will be handed out in class.

This course is advanced level and will be only taught in English. Students taking the class must have Pre-2n
d level Eiken or above， or a score of over 400 on TOEIC.
